Welcome Freshers!!!!!!! 2010

Hi GBPECians,
Firstly, I would like to welcome First year students who have recently joined our evergrowing Family. The reason I am writing this blog, just to share my experience and thought.
By welcoming you i am becoming nostalgic about the feelings i had when i first left my home for GBPEC. I am 2003 Batch mechanical Engineering Graduate.Anyways i dumped my luggage on Najibabad station and moving in our Bus towards Pauri, I had started imagining and sketching everything in my mind. I had lots of expectations and many came to be true and many went flying away from windows as soon as i reached college.
Almost everyone who is joining our esteemed college would have seen the growth and capability of the students moving to almost all parts of world and doing good in their respective careers. I have been closely watching the T&P movemnets on its website and would congratulate the team for moving block by block towards betterment.
Almost everyone in first year would have seen a cult movie '3 Idiots" which had highly inspiring dialogues like "कामयाबी के पीछे मत भागो , काबिलियत के पीछे भागो ". I will totallyagree with the thought but i must advise our guys that all fingers on a hand is not equal. The movie was based on the central character Rancho who was extremely brilliant and genius. But there are guys like me who require lots of hardwork to get their share of success. So always, see you potential and work towards the excellence.
Now i will just address the guys who have joined Mechanical engineering. Guys, you must be searching the name of the companies who have recruited Mechanical graduates. I would say dont be disappointed.we were the third batch into this college. the college didnt have any name whatsoever in this field before. But now after 7 years from then the guys who graduated in Mechanical engineering from GBPEC have moved on the ladder and are on the respectable position. To name a few would be insult to other guys who will be missed as the list is very long. You are lucky to join this college when it has evolved so much in years on terms of faculty, infrastructure and culture. So use this opportunity and let yourself loose because Sky is the Limit.
Whatever you do to your life and career is based on the choice you make and how well you implement it. And lot of guidance is required to choose a correct path at the correct time.
I remember the counselling days, I had three choices Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical and i opted for Mechanical. Everyone said, you missed the opporunity which could have led you to very high profile jobs. But i was pretty strong in my minds and having inclination towards automotive, i thought this will lead me to my dream jobs.I had passion towards Cars and i chose Mechanical engineering.I have worked in number of positions from Car Salesman of SKoda Lucknow to the Development engineer on Jaguar Landrover UK.I am not boasting my achievements but trying to inspire those juniors who are in doubt about their future as a graduate from the college which doesnt have name in top 100 list of colleges in India. There are lot of guys who are doing very good in their field. I would appeal to them that they should join www.gbpec.in in alumin list. This will atleast inspire our new joinees to interact and alsoget some guidance about approach on life after College.

Happy College Days....

  2. Rishit very well said. Just to add some point; that GBPEC is not a place just to get BE degree, its more than that. It's a place to live your life, to enjoy it, to make new friends who'll be with you through the life, to dream and work on them (resources are scare though).

FYI for freshers, (as Rancho said) being in GBPEC don't worry about the job, career, future. It'll surely come to you, if you deserve that.
