SPECTRUM '09 conducted by CSE final year on 13th september 2009

First of all, happy diwali to all and sorry for such a late update.

A technical event named SPECTRUM '09 was conducted on 13th September 2009 by CSE final year under the banner of CSI student branch in GBPEC. The event was basically CS based but open to all.

We had several programs in the event. Few of them are :-

1) JSP Workshop : A workshop on JSP was taken by Bharat Arora (CSE Final year).

2) Programmming Contest : As you all know, it is a test of the person's programming skills.

3) Be a Whizkid : This was a technical quiz (of course CSE based) conducted in 2 rounds. Pre-round was written quiz and final was a quiz on stage.

4) Aptitude test : You know what it is.

5) 2 fast 2 furious : LAN gaming (NFS Most Wanted). Final round was conducted on stage in the auditorium and shown on the screen by projector.

6) Software contest.

7) Website designing.

8) PPT presentation.

9) Word mania : Chandan Adhikari of CSE final year explained some typical english words to the students. He made the program interactive by jumbling the words and asking the students. We also provided the students with the printed leaflets of the words explained.

10) Techos School : I disassembled my own Sweetheart (laptop) which is a DELL inspiron 1525 onstage and showed it live on projector. The video was also recorded. You can see it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7ed-7TJzD0 or below this text on this page only.

We tried to set new standard of technical events in the college and hope we succeeded a bit in it. The few things to be mentioned are :-

1) Disassembling a laptop on stage first time.

2) Introduction of buzzer system in onstage quiz.

3) LAN gaming conducted for the first time.

4) Medals were given to the first prize winners.

We finally thank Thakkar sir and S.K.Verma sir for their support for the event.

Here is the video of Techos' School.
